Michael and Akiko Cutlip, husband and wife, are both artists living and working on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Michael originally from San Francisco California and Akiko, born and raised in Tokyo Japan met in an American art school nearly 30 years ago. Both have had solo careers exhibiting extensively in the USA over the many years of marriage.
They are now coming together for the first time in 20 years for “Lokahi” (Together as one, oneness)

Living and working in Hawaii for over 7 years now, the abundance of nature that surrounds us is having a profound impact on our art.
Botanical forms reveal themselves as abstracted or semi-abstracted shapes.
The colors, the movement, and the shapes of the living world, all come uniquely together as one on the canvas.

ハワイでの生活が始まり7年目。
大自然に囲まれた今のライフスタイルが私たちの作品に大きな影響を及ぼしています。
そこはかとなく抽象的なフォルムを持つ草木たち。
根付く命が放つ色彩、空気の流れに踊る姿、多種多様な形体などをキャンバスに描写しています。
